Vocal and Veena

Dr. Jaishree Prasad, disciple of the legendary veena maestro Padmabhushan Dr. V. Doreswamy Iyengar, is a rare combination of a musician, research scholar, academic advisor, music composer, author, music director, cultural coordinator and AIR graded artist (Bangalore).

She is a professional performing artist in Veena with a Ph.D. in music. She worked as an Associate Professor at Sri Padmavthi Womens Universtiy (Tirupathi) in India and has teaching experience for more than 30 yrs.

She has authored a book on Veena, "Veena in theory, practice and experiments in Karnatak Music".

Preethi Prasad comes from a family of musicians and had her training in classical carnatic vocal music under the able guidance of well known artists - Vidwan Sri N. S. Krishnaswamy Iyengar & Smt Neela Ramanuja and advance vocal and veena training under Dr. Jaishree Prasad and Vidwan Sri Bellary M Raghavendra (Program Executive, All India Radio,Mysuru). She secured high percentage of marks in Vocal, Veena and Dance examinations conducted by Karnataka Education Board. She has participated in many music programs in Bangalore and USA.

Preethi has a financial accounting background and worked as Senior Accountant with various multinational corporations prior to taking to music full time.

Preethi gives music concerts regularly with Dr. Jaishree Prasad and conducts music classes at Pallavi Academy of Music.

Vocal and Violin

Ranjani Prasad comes from a family of musicians. She started learning carnatic Vocal and Violin at a very early age from the great Violin maestro, Sangeetha Vidyasagara Vidwan Sri. R. R. Keshavamurthy in Bangalore. She continued her training in Violin from Vidwan Sri. Dayakar (staff artist AIR Bangalore), Vidwan Sri C. Padmanabhan (Chicago, USA), Vidwan Sri. Ramanujacharyulu (staff artist AIR Trichy), and Vocal from her mother Dr. Jaishree Prasad and Smt. Neela Ramanuja.

She excelled in exams conducted by Karnataka Education Board Bangalore in classical Vocal, Violin and Dance. She has performed with reknowned artists like Smt. P. Susheela (Film playback singer) and C.S. Ainkaran in USA. She has been singing for Bharatanatyam Arangetrams in Chicago.

She is presently engaged in teaching and performing Carnatic Vocal and Violin in Chicagoland.
